11 Months

Where has the time gone?  Davis is home and we are going to have a 1 year old next month...what?  This year went by fast and as much as I hated wishing Grey's first year away, I wanted Davis home!  I have told Davis multiple times that he got to come home at the best possible time because Grey can actually "play" now.  He loves to read books and play ball.  He has gotten really good at copying whatever it is that you show him.  He is so curious and eager to learn and do things by himself.
He continues to eat just about anything you put in front of him.  He has 3 teeth (2 bottom and 1 top) and can manage to "chew" most things, even meat.  We are working on the other top tooth, but it hasn't broken through yet.
We have started introducing whole milk here and there.  Just a couple oz. at a time and he wasn't at all interested at first, but it is growing on him.  He still nurses in the morning and at night and during the day 1 or 2 times, but I want him to be on whole milk only during the day by 1 week before his first birthday because that is when we leave for our big trip to Southern France.  I really don't want to have to nurse him while we are traveling during the day.
Grey is a super fast crawler and when Davis saw him crawl for the first time in person I think his exact words were, "Wow!  He can do that?"  He knew he could crawl and had seen it on videos, but didn't realize how fast he was.  Now that Davis is home I have brought back out the toys that facilitate walking, but I had to put them up for a while because I really wanted Davis to be here for his first steps.  Grey has become such an efficient crawler that he doesn't really care to even try to walk most of the time.  He is cruising on furniture and has let go a few times, but I think we still have at least another month until any "real" steps happen.
Checking Daddy out.

The second day Davis was home Grey was warming up a bit.

Reading some "Game and Fish" with Dad.

Kissing his "daddy doll"
Kissing his cow poster....
he is really into kissing lately :)
If I try to get him to give me a kiss on the cheek
he will move my face so he can kiss my mouth.
It is really sweet, but those open mouth kisses are pretty
sloppy on the mouth.

Tickle time

So glad Daddy's home!!!

Davis' Homecoming

Wow, I can't believe he is FINALLY home!  I have felt more emotions in the past week than seem possible.  Mostly though, I have just felt blessed!  Davis is home and we are slowly, but surely learning to be a family of 3.  Grey wasn't so sure about this new man in our house the first day, but everyday is getting better.  He really watches Davis closely.  The last 2 days or so he has really been looking to Davis for approval and when he does something new he likes to see if Davis is watching him.
This Father's Day has been really special for me to be able to watch the father/son relationship between Davis and Grey blossom.  Davis is such a natural and I can already see the adoration in Grey's eyes for his Daddy!  God has been really good to us and brought Davis home safely!
The sweet sign Carol had friends and family from home sign for Davis.

Trying to wait patiently for the guys to get there.

They are here!!!

First hug!

So thankful he is home!

Daddy's coming HOME!!!!

"My daddy's coming home this week and I can't find ANYTHING to wear!!!"

YAY!  Davis is coming home this week and I could not be more giddy about it!  What a long year this has been!  God is good and has helped us through it though.  We will have LOTS of adjustments considering we have never been a family of 3 in our own home without house guests, but they are VERY welcome adjustments.
